Ex-Mørtis is based off the 1981 supernatural film The Evil Dead that was written and directed by Sam Raimi and also served as has debut film. Along with Raimi, Bruce Campbell was cast to play Ash Williams after he and Raimi shot numerous short films. The Evil Dead follows Ash and his group of friends as they go to a cabin in the woods that houses the Necronomicon Ex-Mørtis.
