First teased in a short TikTok video, on September 17, 2020, the short 10 second video started gaining quick attention. The song was then released on December 11, 2020, through SoundCloud and YouTube. In 2021, the song started slowly gaining attention again, and quickly went viral throughout TikTok. A music video to the song was released on June 4, 2021, a few months after the song quickly went viral.

Following the success to the song, an Afro Kompa remix, featuring Fatima Altieri and produced by Fredy Muks, was released on August 6, 2021.
