Butter (Megan Thee Stallion Remix)

Butter (Megan Thee Stallion Remix)

BTS (Ft. Megan Thee Stallion)

The song is the remix of the BTS' hit single, that became the longest-charting No. 1 song of 2021 on the Billboard Hot 100. This dance-pop track with the smooth and uplift lyrics that shows the artists' charms in a welcoming for the viewer way, was spiced up by a new verse landed by an American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, showing her “inimitable rap and signature sounds.”

The artists started working together in June 2021, when BTS' label, BigHit Music, reached out to Megan about the feature. The artist wrote her verse within two weeks, and all recordings were completed in early August, when the release date of the song was also set. The song marks the first collaboration between the artists.

The song’s release was preceded by controversy over her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment (a local Houston label she signed to years ago), and its CEO Carl Crawford, who blocked the release. Megan was forced to fill a lawsuit, as the media and fans of both artists found out few days before the planned release. BTS' label even offered a royalty agreement instead of typical no fee/feature swap one, but instead, 1501 Certified Entertainment asked for $100.000 fee to be obtained by them entirely. Fortunately, the court granted Stallion emergency relief to prevent her label from blocking the music she wishes to release, and the remix was released.

Upon these events, as a support for Megan and the collaboration with BTS, fans raised in a day over $100.000 in her name, that was donated for Black Women for Wellness, Women for Afghan Women, and The Houston Food Bank.
