This song is about how Nate Ruess found a girl that his mother isn’t appreciative of, the metaphor being that his new girlfriend is the wind-up doll. But then his mother becomes more nice toward her as she realizes that her adn the wind-up doll are similar after all. It is the seventh track on Fun.’s album, Some Nights.
