Beautiful is the 7th track on Lana Del Rey’s 7th Major-Label album, “Blue Banisters”.

In Beautiful, Del Rey stresses independence from others and embraces her melancholy, arguing that without sadness and independence, she (and many others) wouldn’t have accomplished what they had in their careers. Yet still, Del Rey throughout the song subtly asks permission for this independence from her lover, stuck in a haze of doubt.

The song’s instrumentals are simple yet beautiful, driving home Del Rey’s confliction she displays in her lyrics.
