The closing track of the album “Apartment Song” is an ode to being alone. It was written in Alessia Cara’s apartment she got and moved into, hence the title. The track was first teased in a snippet across her social media on September 23, 2021.

In her mostly chronological album, the song represents where Alessia is currently at in her life. She did not expect to be on the other side of her tumultuous pitfalls, yet here she is: having received the help she might not have gotten if the pandemic never occured, and progressing with a new, positive outlook.
