Tender Lover

Tender Lover

Babyface

Tender Lover’s title track was released as the second single, which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the R&B chart for a week in December 1989. “Tender Lover” is sung in the perspective of an ex telling his former lover to not be discourage in finding love despite the shortcoming of their own relationship. The track was originally offered to Lionel Richie but he declined the track, leading to Babyface keeping it for himself.
