The music video generated a lot of discussion as to its true meaning.
The four members of the band represent themselves as shapes; a square, a rectangle, a circle, and a triangle. In the video, a prophet is shown displaying three of the shapes, but not the triangle. In the video, a giant triangle approaches the city. The city tries to destroy it, but the prophet attempts a peaceful approach. This could represent the group’s solidarity.
However, it has also been pointed out that everyone in the city is a male, and many of the buildings are quite phallic. The triangle could then represent the return of women to the male society that had driven them out with violence. Only when the prophet succeeds in convincing the city to stop fighting the triangle does it open up to reveal what’s inside. (We the viewer don’t actually get to see what’s inside).
Another theory is that all of the city dwellers represent sperm, and the triangle represents an egg. The king, being the strongest, is the one to first walk through the triangle’s shield.
