“Doesn’t Matter” is an alternative pop track from BENEE, in which she explores the struggles of suffering with OCD, which she was diagnosed with in mid-2021. The song notes her daily worries and stresses, like how she forgets to turn the oven off, or how she is too scared to check out the window.

The song has a really personal tone and lyricism, with even the title having a significant meaning, as BENEE explained in a DORK interview:

People telling you not to worry or saying “It doesn’t matter” don’t understand that it’s not that simple. Having had help to learn how to deal with my own anxiety and depression, I want others to know that there is a way through.

“Doesn’t Matter” was originally released as a single in October 2021, with the music video following in the December, but later appeared on her third EP, Lychee.
