“WHEN YOU’RE SOBER” sees Miles encouraging people to fall in love with the hopes that they will still feel the same way the next morning when they are sober.

The track was first teased on September 22, 2021, when Miles previewed to his fans the song’s chorus for his YouTube series, WHOLE LOTTA LIFE.

On October 21, 2022, Miles took to Instagram to preview a longer snippet of the song, as well as two other songs. From this snippet, the pre0-chorus and a longer version of the chorus was present.

After nearly eight months of silence, on June 8, 2022, Miles took to Instagram to reveal the song’s cover art, as well as a June 17 release date. It is the third and final single for Mile’s upcoming debut major label EP, NEVER HAVE I EVER.
