“A Drug From God” is the first collaboration between electronic music producer Chris Lake and artist and producer Grimes (under the alias “NPC”). It was first played on May 30th, 2021 by Chris Lake and Fisher as the opening song of their ‘Under Construction’ show.

The single features Grimes’s vocals on top of Lake’s characteristic song structure. A demo version was played on Grimes’s DJ set for the Splendour XR virtual festival event on her Discord server ‘Grimes Metaverse’, with significant changes in the bassline and synths.

On November 4th, Lake released the official title, artwork, and release date on his social media, as well as the pre-order. The “extended mix” is available exclusively on Beatport, with slightly altered instrumentals and added lyrics.
