Throughout “icarus,” glaive uses Greek mythology and story-telling to tell the story of a partner who he sees slowly slip out of the relationship. As he reflects on his newfound success, glaive sees the cons in his relationship, using the sun as a peak as he loses himself.
The experimental pop-track was first previewed near midnight on November 30, 2021, and would quickly become a fan favorite. Soon after its first snippets, it’d replace “skinny white boy in that big black benz again,” also known as “dogs! dogs! dogs!” or “dogs,” on old dog, new tricks’s final tracklist.
