5-4-3-2-1

Manfred Mann

Released on 10th of January 1964, “5-4-3-2-1” became Manfred Mann’s first single to chart, reaching number 5 on the UK singles chart, mostly due to its use as the theme for “Ready Steady Go”, a British television show.

It was written by Paul Jones, Mike Hugg and keyboardist Manfred Mann and would ultimately become the last recording by the band to feature founding member Dave Richmond who would leave shortly after.

Clocking in at 1:59, it was written as a short track to be fit as the intro song for “Ready Steady Go”
