Lovejoy’s cover of “Knee Deep at ATP” by Los Campesinos! pays homage to the latter band, as it is one of lead singer Wilbur Soot’s favourite bands. Although he has done many covers of their songs as a solo artist, such as “Romance is Boring”, this is his first cover of their songs as part of Lovejoy.

According to Lovejoy on Twitter, the cover was finished on December 25. The cover was teased multiple times, including in bassist Ash Kabosu’s vlog on December 1, and in Wilbur’s Twitch stream on December 21.

Lovejoy initially wanted to release “Knee Deep at ATP” as part of a third EP with two more songs, but the band released it as a single instead, and scrapped the two songs.
