“Planet Zero” is the lead single from Shinedown’s seventh album and 17th chart-topping single on the US Rock Chart for the band.

Brent Smith explained the song was written at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and inspired by the band’s observation that “common sense was thrown out of the window” and how “we’re starting to see parts of society slip into an unknown.”
