In “Barbarian,” the Chicago native rapper Lil Durk raps about his growth since his poverty-stricken days in the Southside of Chicago. Durk speaks about himself and his block feeling unwelcome, relating to the word barbarian which refers to an alienated or hostile society or person.

The official music video was directed by the common collaborator, Jerry Production and was released three days after the audio. In the video, Durk and his friends show off their extravagant pieces of jewellery and their heaps of cash.
