“Hurt Me So Good” explores a previous toxic relationship that saw Sullivan feeling as though she were trapped by her own emotions, hoping that she will one day “find the strength [to] let go”.

The track follows “Jazzy’s Tale”, in which Jazmine discusses how her longing for love and validation made her feel as though she had to stay with her partner, regardless of how they treated her.
