Security

Kanye West

On “Security,” Ye asserts that nothing can get in the way of him being with his family.

In particular, he takes aim at Pete Davidson, who he feels is standing between him and his family by starting a relationship with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

In January 2022, Ye claimed that Kardashian’s private security stopped him from entering her house and attending his daughter Chicago’s birthday party, as Pete Davidson was inside, although the artist was also accused of stealing when he attempted to retrieve some graphic novels from his and Kim’s home. Further reports circulated that Davidson hired extra security, too, after Ye threatened him on his 2022 song “Eazy.”

On February 23, this song, along with three other tracks from the album, were officially released on Ye’s Stem Player.

On March 7, when the album became available to stream on the Stem Player website for the device owners, “Security,” alongside “Pablo” became available for everyone.

On June 13, a short snippet was shared by Digital Nas-affiliated artist Emily Braswell through Instagram, with a DaBaby verse and interlude.
