“Narcoland, The Mexican Drug Lords and Their Godfathers” (in Spanish “Los Senores del Narco”) is a book written by author Anabel Hernandez. The book introduces the readers to the world of the illegal drug trade and the complex politics and interactions between its members. The author released the book in both Spanish and English in December of 2010. The English version of the book was translated by Iain Bruce and Lorna Scott Fox.

The author is a Mexican native well known for her decades of journalism investigating the drug trade in Mexico and the government’s involvement. It is her most well-known book and the one that caused her to become the target of threats and attacks, after which she was forced to hire bodyguards. She has since released several books related to the drug kingpins, including her most recent book, “Emma and the Other Narco Women” which was just released in December 2021 and talks about the wives of prominent drug lords.
