“Serious” is Jme’s first ever single—first appearing on The JME EP, it propelled Jme into the limelight quickly with its radio-friendly lyrics and wise wordplay. It’s seen by many as the UK’s first glance at grime which isn’t too violent or expletive.

A music video was released in 2009, and it has over one million views on YouTube. Jme recognised the track’s popularity, and in his 2015 track “Integrity” from his album of the same name, he acknowledged this:
