Becoming All Alone was released on June 24th, 2022, on the same day the album was announced, as a preview for the album, but also a wonderful homecoming for long-time fans who recognize her specialty of enchanting bright vocals over a heavy piano instrumental.

As the lead single for her album, the song describes an emotional tale of a speaker conversing with God as they walk alone down the New York streets. In seering vocals, Spektor sings of inevitable loneliness and warmly pleads for ‘it’ to stay – ‘it’ possibly being time itself, or perhaps individuals that one may lose to time.
