The song was first teased on April 15, 2022, as KayCyy went on Instagram Live to share the first minute of the song, in the midst of a preview of several other unreleased songs. Then, he proceeded to upload another brief snippet on Twitter.

Finally, on April 28, the artist announced that the track would be officially set for a May 6 release, revealing the official cover art and a pre-save link.
