“1st Degree Murder” is a slower melody over a guitar-sampled trap beat, similar to its counterpart “Save Me, Please” from First Draft. This track specifically sees Trippie Redd address his regard for Skye Morales — his partner — claiming to protect her from anybody who poses danger to her.

This track was slated to be one of the lead singles for Trippie Redd’s long-awaited A Love Letter To You 5 alongside “Save Me, Please”, “Big 14”, and “Ain’t Safe”. However, with the release of MANSION MUSIK, Trippie ended up scrapping the singles from the album, and focused on an R&B tracklist.
