Shortly after leaving Republic Records and Posty Co. to pursue music independently, Alabama native Clever announced the release of “Turn out the light” in a now deleted Instagram post.

Starting off his independent streak strong, Clever experiments on the first of a few cuts supplemented by a drill-style beat.

Clever enlists the production from drill producer War, on which he talks about wishing to be left alone–with the light out.
