“Move” is the potential lead single from DNCE’s upcoming second studio album. This song serves as the band’s first release as a lead artist in 2022, coming out of an almost four-year-long hiatus and their feature on Kygo’s February 2022 single, “Dancing Feet,” which was their comeback single. Like DNCE’s traditional upbeat party-styled music, both songs see the band’s lead singer, Joe Jonas, continuing with the theme of dancing and moving.

On April 13, 2022, Joe teased “Move” for the first time by playing it in the background of a video that stars him and his wife, Sophie Turner, promoting Rob’s Popcorn by going to Walmart and buying bags of it. Six days later, he shared a promotional video, which stars him and Sophie again, with a more audible sound to the song. More of the snippet was revealed by some fans through their own videos that used the sound of the song. The band revealed the release date and shared the cover art on April 28, 2022.

A lyric video for “Move” was released alongside the release of the song on May 6, 2022.
