“1985” tells the tale of a woman, Debbie, going through a mid-life crisis as she compares her dreams from when she was young to her current, boring, stereotypical life. In the song she wishes she was young again and back in the ‘80s. This is shown predominantly throughout the song with many references to '80s pop culture.

“1985” is a cover of SR-71’s song of the same name with slight differences in the lyrics and the instrumental. It was the first single from Bowling For Soup’s 2004 album, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve.
