McRae reflects on the signs she was once blind to which indicated the relationship would soon end, and sings about feeling ashamed for still caring. In a TikTok, McRae described the song as sounding like the “credits rolling at the end of a movie.”

The track’s production is done by FINNEAS, marking this as the second collaboration between the pair, after “​tear myself apart” released in August 2019.
