Aesop Rock tells on the YouTube video “Behind Sekelethon – Crows 1” that the song basically is about graveyards. A fantastical and surreal place where it becomes haunted at night.

“Kimya Dawson”, the person who sang some parts of the song is a friend of Aesop Rock.

He doesn’t really explain why the song is called “Crows 1”. He just tells that the one is in the title because there is a second part.
