JAKE said in a Rolling Stone interview:

They told us that it was going to be sort of like an unofficial fan song where we can really perform in front of our fans at a concert maybe. And, you know, we did perform that… and it was sort of what I imagined it would be like… Before, when I was writing, we hadn’t done a concert yet… so I had to use my imagination… What I imagined back then is sort of what happened, so it was really meaningful to me."

Before their MANIFESTO tour, he said in an interview with Weverse Magazine:

…when I think about our relationship with ENGENE, it’s clear we can’t live without each other. When ENGENE holds up their light sticks, it looks like stars in the night sky, so I kept picturing the audience at a concert and how it would feel performing while looking out at that. It isn’t something I’ve been able to experience yet, but I thought about the anticipation and the thrill and wrote the lyrics that way.

He also said,

BTS has a lot of fan songs, like “Magic Shop” and “Mikrokosmos.” I listened to the way the lyrics describe their fans as stars in the night sky and a city night scene. I looked for a lot of expressions like that. To be frank, I have no problem speaking in Korean, but I can feel the language barrier when I’m writing lyrics because I’m limited in the way I can express myself for now.
