“Everything Goes On” is a collaboration between Riot Games' Music Team and American music producer Porter Robinson. The song was written for Riot’s 2022 Star Guardian event, which spans three of their games and began in-game on July 14th, 2022, the same day as the release of this this track and its music video. The cover art of the track is reminiscent of Porter Robinson’s singles on Nurture which was released on April 23rd, 2021. “Everything Goes On” also marks Porter Robinson’s first release after Nurture and in 2022.

On June 21st, 2022, it was revealed that Porter Robinson was working with Riot for their Star Guardian event when they released the official orchestral theme for the event, which promoted Robinson’s website, credited him as a writer, and interpolated the main theme from “Everything Goes On.” The track was then teased by Robison live at his Electric Forest 2022 piano set on June 27th. On July 7th, Robinson posted a picture of himself at Riot Games Studios, further hinting towards the collab. The track’s release was officially announced on July 12th, 2022.
