Super Freaky Girl

Super Freaky Girl

Nicki Minaj

In the “Anaconda” sister-song “Super Freaky Girl,” Nicki Minaj takes pridefulness in her freak-esque role, going into depth about her various sexual encounters.

On July 12, 2022, Nicki tweeted out:

Y’all want surprise ? Tweet #NickiFreakyGirl

Following the hashtag trending worldwide on Twitter, she posted a snippet of the single, which was revealed to feature a sample from Rick James' 1981 hit “Super Freak” – a song she had already sampled for her track “Dilly Dally,” from the 2007 mixtape Playtime is Over. After the snippet was posted, the track garnered widespread attention on the video-sharing platform TikTok.

On August 3, 2022, she would reveal the cover art and hold a Twitter poll, asking fans to choose between the title “FREAK” or “Super Freaky Girl.” Although “FREAK” won the vote, Nicki would go on to express that it could not be used due to legal reasons.

Thank you for your over 200K votes but we could not legally use the name freak or freaky girl. You’re stuck with this. Love you 😘🥰

She later announced on her Instagram and Twitter accounts that the song would be released on August 12, at Midnight EST.
