“Cookie” serves as the third single from South Korean girl group NewJeans' debut self-titled EP. The song is a club-oriented R&B and pop track featuring a Jersey club bridge built upon a minimal hip-hop beat.

Upon release, the song received backlash due to allegations that the lyrics contained sexual innuendos, which many considered inappropriate for a group composed of teenagers. The word “cookie” is considered a slang term referring to female genitalia. Furthermore, the song’s official English translation was also brought into question. NewJeans' agency denied the allegations.
