On “Bad Idea”, Dove finds herself in contact with a toxic ex, wondering if they could give their relationship a second try. The first verse features Dove setting the scene with the interaction that relit the flame, and placed the idea of a second shot at the relationship in her head. With the pre-chorus, Dove contemplates the “bad idea” of attempting the love again. The second verse is the way Dove imagines it happening, a private dinner, and a convincing talk. The bridge is where Dove remembers how badly the first try ended, but as she says “fuck it, let’s do it again”.
