“anatomy” is a ballad about Kenzie’s relationship with her father, and not liking the idea that she is half her mom and half her dad. On Thanksgiving, 2022, kenzie posted a snippet to TikTok, and clarified in the comments, “this is about my dad btw”. “anatomy” was released as the second single to kenzie’s debut album biting my tongue on July 21st, 2023.

On June 28, Kenzie announced the release date, and started teasing the song again but with photos of when she was young along with lyrics.
