A few days after releasing “All or Nothing,” Ripe posted a video on their Instagram in which Robbie Wulfsohn gave the following background on the song:

This song came to be as a result of one of the people in the room when we were first sitting down to write it having their relationship immediately and suddenly catch on fire. In what would turn out to be the beginning of a break-up, he was getting very angry messages, very ‘ultimatum energy’ messages, basically being like, ‘I’m not feeling good in this, you need to figure this out, this is or isn’t going to happen right now.’ And that kind of urgency and immediacy poured itself into the song, and we all kind of worked to shape that into what turned out to be a plea for ‘All or Nothing.’
