The opening battle of Blackout 7 weekend saw two MCs who had been making some noise in the second half of 2016 with their respective battles against Madflex and Krome at World Domination 6 square off against each other. Former Ground Zero title contender Aftershock, from Cooksville, Ontario, Canada stepped in the ring to battle JeFFrey (aka “Yung America”), from Manchester, Connectiut, who kept audiences entertained with his cool, laidback demeanor and humorous punchlines both at WD6 & KOTD’s Battles at The Bunker series.

Unfortunately for JeFFrey, this ended up being his only main stage battle on KOTD, as on April 23, 2018, over a year after this battle took place, he was exposed for racist statements he made about fellow battle rapper Pass and his children on a Facebook livestream.
Battle rap cameraman and videographer Kyle “Avocado” Gray, who, at the time, had been directing pay-per-view streams for KOTD and URL simultaneously, responded by blacklisting JeFFrey from competing on both leagues, and issuing an ultimatum to the battle rap culture in a since-deleted tweet:

Any league that books Jeffrey ever again I will not work with. That goes for @urltv @KingOfTheDot and anyone else. You are a guest in this culture, act like it.
