In this introduction to Busta Rhymes' 2006 (and only Aftermath) release, The Big Bang, Busta raps over a Dr. Dre production. Listeneing to the album as a whole, it is clear that Busta isn’t as inspired under Aftermath as he with previous releases. However, tracks like this demonstrate what Busta Rhymes' booming voice and Dre’s loud yet dynamic beats can do together. After a short vocal sample, an unusual string arrangment creates an erie atmosphere along with the hook (provided by Marsha from Floetry and veteran rapper Q-Tip). Just as Busta Rhymes begins his verse, a short but hard hitting piano arrangment is introduced, and continues throughout the song. While The Big Bang certainly lacked much of what made Busta’s previous works unique, songs such as this (as well as other Dre-produced tracks on the album like Cocaina) stand out by demonstrating what Busta Rhymes is capable of when he is given a well-composed and well-mixed instrumental.
