“Igowallah” is a rap song by Daniel Thrasher comprised almost entirely of nonsense words. The song can be seen as a spiritual successor to Daniel’s previous videos “When you don’t understand hip hop” and “When you don’t understand hip hop part 2”, which are both skits that are also centered around rapping nonsense syllables.

The song was made for Daniel’s YouTube video “How rap sounds to non-english speakers”. In the music video, Daniel kidnaps a spelling bee host and takes his place, asking a contestant to spell the nonsense word “igowallah”. When the contestant asks him to use it in a sentence, he goes up on stage and breaks into a fully choreographed song and dance with the rest of the spelling bee contestants.

The video was Daniel’s most expensive to produce and features a cast of over 40 people. Daniel first teased the video on Twitter on April 6, 2023, and it was originally slated to release on April 29. However, the video was delayed nearly a month for unknown reasons, and was finally released on May 27. The song was released to streaming services several days later.
