“A Year Without Rain” is the title song and last single from Selena Gomez & The Scene’s sophomore album. It was written by Lindy Robbins and Toby Gad (who also produced the song).

According to an interview with MTV News, Selena said that the song was the first track she recorded for the album.

She also explained the reason she named the album for the song was because “I feel like that song has a lot of meaning and it also kind of was the start of what I wanted to base all the other songs around.”

The song peaked at #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs chart. It was also certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA with sales of 955,000.
