glaive

The extended cut of “2005 barbie doll” begins with glaive giving a motivational speech whilst the album’s executive producer Jeff Hazin prepares recording for a first demo of “17250.” The recording abruptly transitions into an unknown song recording, with a loud crowd in the background before an instrumental pause. The recording switches once more into another unknown track.

The song would be unheard of until the album’s release, with the extended cut making its way into the YouTube lyric video. It’d be confirmed shortly after that the voice memo recordings were on vinyl.

The album’s closing has glaive explore the real world and how people act as a grown adult. Reflecting on how people will use one and other for personal gain or how his actions have led to him being alone, he realizes that none of it was worth it in the end, leaving him insecure.

The track originally ends with a story from glaive’s mother, Rebecca, about an encounter between a young boy and dogs, an animal glaive has praised heavily and associated himself with for years, naming his sophomore EP and its deluxe after them.
