Although NCT’s sub-units was very successful, the 20 members of NCT still had the opportunity to reunite to release the first title song “Golden Age”, taken from their 4th studio album of the same name. With this new single, NCT respectfully welcomes the listeners to their brilliant golden age in their career, and also paints a bright future for their new chapter.

Interpolated from the Ludwig van Beethoven’s musical piece Piano Sonata No.8 In C Minor Op.13 (Pathetique), the song was written in the key A-flat major, with a tempo of 151 BPM. For the music video, it is not only a combination of all 20 members of NCT, but also contains a message about the group’s new direction: NCT is no longer as a large group of members, where each person is identified in the order in which they joined the group; but a combination of artists with their own artistic identity, although different but still in harmony.

The song was pre-released on August 23, and, together with second title single “Baggy Jeans” by NCT U, was performed for the first time at the concert NCT NATION: To The World on August 26, 2 days before the album’s release.
