11.11

Quavo

This track’s title, “11.11”, is a reference to the superstitious belief of making a wish at the time 11:11. This belief is stemmed from the number ‘1111’, said to give a sixth sense of positivity; being why some wish certain dreams at 11:11 in hopes that it’ll come to fruition.

It is notable that Quavo’s fellow Migos member, Takeoff, was shot and killed on the first of November (11/1). It can be interpreted as one of Quavo’s signals to make Rocket Power both in tribute to Takeoff, along with respect for himself. By the end of the track, however, it is clear that even though the loss of Takeoff still pains Quavo, he uses the sign ‘1111’ to see the road paved for his destiny.

On November 11, 2022 (11/11), a memorial service was held in honor of Takeoff, celebrating his life and his career accomplishments. The memorial was held in State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and tickets for the event sold out quickly. This track was also recorded on this day as well, Quavo noted in his YouTube interview, ‘A Conversation For The Fans.’.
