“Black Suit” is the seventh track on A Crisis of Faith at the Death of a Loved One and was released as a single on September 8, 2023.

In an explanation posted to the band’s Instagram, Mike Halls explains,

The ultimate goal for any song is to say something everybody feels, in a way that it’s never been said before. I wrote most of ‘Black Suit’ while sitting in the wake of a funeral. I felt deeply sad for people in that room, and I also felt a wall of love from my family; but most of all I felt like a lost kid. We’re all just playing at being grown ups, and times of great loss really leave you standing in your dad’s oversized suit.
