“The Screams of Passion” was the best known single from Prince protege group The Family. The 7" single [7-28953] and 12" single [0-20360] were released on Paisley Park Records on July 19, 1985 and reached #9 on the R&B charts, and #63 on the Pop charts. The songwriters are credited as St. Paul Peterson and Susannah Melvoin even though “Screams of Passion” was actually written by Prince.
