This song was originally written in 1932 and performed by Leo Reisman and His Orchestra. In the 1953 film The Band Wagon, Fred Astaire performs this number with LeRoy Daniels, a real-life shoeshine man who had his own stand outside of MGM Studios and was known for his theatrical manner.
