Artist

Snap Dogg (b. December 7, 1993) is a rapper born and raised in Detroit, MI. He is widely recognized as the “Problem Child of Detroit.” He rose to fame with his single “Trippin”. Notably, he collaborated with Lil Durk on the track “Shooters”.

Snap Dogg experienced a tragic loss in his life when his twin brother Bronco was shot to death during a break-in in 2012. In an act of resilience, Snap decided to attend school that very morning just hours after learning about his brother’s death. The passing of his brother had a profound impact on his life, shaping his perspective and motivating him to navigate his path with a renewed sense of purpose. Snap credits sports, particularly football, for playing a crucial role in saving him from a potentially perilous path, acknowledging that without his involvement in athletics, he may have ended up in dire circumstances.

After the release of his single “My Story” he was announced as a Glo Gang affiliate by Chicago rapper Chief Keef. This endorsement from Chief Keef further elevated Snap’s status in the rap industry and helped expand his reach to a wider audience.

Snap has spoken about meeting Chief Keef, saying his incredible work ethic and rapid creative process left a lasting impression on Snap Dogg. Inspired by their encounter, Snap adopted Chief Keef’s approach to “punching in” his verses, abandoning the traditional method of writing or recording section by section.

Despite setbacks and a lack of recognition, Snap remains resilient, focused on creating undeniable music. With his latest album 6 Rings he solidifies his position as a Detroit hip-hop ambassador, representing the city with his unique trap and drill style. Snap’s personal growth, mentorship from industry heavyweights, and dedication to his family fuel his determination to succeed in 2023 and beyond.
