JEON SOYEON (전소연) is a South Korean rapper-producer signed to Cube Entertainment. She is the leader of the Korean girl group (G)I-DLE under the mononym SOYEON and is best known for appearing on TV series Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar.

She debuted as a solo artist on November 5, 2017, with the digital singles “Jelly” and “Idle Song.” Shortly after, she debuted with (G)I-DLE with the “LATATA” in 2018, a song she wrote and produced herself. She continued her career with the group, producing hit after hit, and appearing on competition show Queendom, for which she also wrote and produced the group’s final song.

Apart from (G)I-DLE, Soyeon has also made herself a name as a writer and a rapper. She wrote labelmate CLC’s hit “No” and Namjoo’s “Bird.” She has been featured in many songs by senior artists in the K-Pop industry such as HYOYEON’s digital single “DESSERT” and the title track for Key from SHINee’s I Wanna Be album. She’s crossed continents and universes too, participating in League of Legends' singles as the voice of the character Akali – rapping in songs “Pop/Stars,” “True Damage” and “MORE,” gaining international fame too.

Her first solo project as a lead artist since 2017, Windy, lead by “BEAM BEAM,” was released in July 2021.

In January 2024, she was promoted to a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
