Artist

David Salazar, better known as David Shawty, is a rapper, singer, and producer born in San Jose, California and currently living in Seattle, Washington. Having accumulated over 10,000 followers on Soundcloud, David is well known for his incredibly catchy hooks, his varying vocals, and his different styles on various songs. No matter what sound, David’s repertoire knows no bounds as he succeeds in every genre.

In 2016 and 2017, David pushed the popular-at-the-time plugg genre forward like few others, racking up hundreds of thousands of plays on tracks like “On Me”, “Soft”, “Sport” and “Drift”; his most popular track “Honda” even managed to surpass one million plays on its own and is revered by many as a SoundCloud classic. Songs like “Die by Fire” and “Baby, I’m Dead” saw him embrace a darker, more emotionally-based sound that he carried with him into his first EP entitled My Heart, which was released in September of 2017. The project’s most popular single, “Four”, received a music video as well.

The success of his past EP as well as “Erase M3” gave way to David’s Deadboy 2k EP. Since then he’s embraced numerous different styles, uploading songs that differentiate between the genres of rock, emo, country, and even horror-core. The long-awaited music video for “Honda” premiered on ELEVATOR in May of 2018.

The explosion in popularity of “Ch1p Skyl4rk” and “Cowgirl” paved the way for his 2018 EP entitled Pink Eternity, as well as the fan-favorite Grave Angel tapes with NeilaWorld head honcho FadedBlackid.

In early 2020, David saw a massive jump in popularity after the song “Pressure” with Yungster Jack blew up on TikTok.
