Demetrius Jackson (born 1994), better known by his stage name ElCamino (or El Camino), is an American rapper hailing from Buffalo, New York. He is associated with the Griselda collective.

Born in Buffalo, Jackson moved with his mother and his siblings to Baton Rouge, Louisiana when he was nine years old. He spent there four years in which he started writing rhymes and recording his first tracks at his cousin’s studio. After getting back to Buffalo, he chose the stage name Meechy Elcamino and linked up with a crew called the Local Residents during high school.

By 2015, he started releasing solo mixtapes and shortly after was discovered by Griselda’s founder Westside Gunn through his sister.

In 2017, Jackson released his eponymous debut album under the stage name Elcamino, dropping “Meechy” from his name at the suggestion of Westside Gunn, who executively produced the record.
