Morgan St. Jean

Artist

Morgan St. Jean is a self-described “feminist pop princess.” She grew up in Los Angeles. According to Raw Artists, she is “a singer-songwriter with a unique and soulful voice whose lyrics touch audiences with their truth and beauty. Having always been intrigued as to why people love, lie, fight, and feel so many different things, the young artist has spent her time exploring the human condition through songwriting.” She cites Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, and Marilyn Monroe as some of her biggest inspirations and influences and has said her dream collaborations would be Madonna and Eminem.

When asked about how she got into music, she has said:
“I think growing up in a place like LA has definitely inspired me. I’m fascinated by the juxtaposition of glamour and grit, and I think that really comes through in my music. I started singing in the second grade when I auditioned for the school choir. One day after rehearsal my director asked to speak with my mom when she picked me up (I thought I was getting kicked out of the group), and he ended up telling her that he thought I had talent and wanted me to be the featured soloist. My mom was as shocked as I was, but that’s really where my passion for music began.”
